Villa Cimbrone Wedding on the Amalfi Coast

This past year, I have had quite a few brides getting married in Italy, Lake Como and Ravello on the Amalfi Coast in particular. And this year into the next is no exception. Having travelled throughout Italy, and specifically to these locations, I can say they are truly among the most gorgeous places in Italy.

The 12th century Villa Cimbrone, in Ravello, is perched upon a hilltop cliff with stunning views of an unimaginable emerald sea beneath a brilliant blue sky. The lush gardens and architectural elements were the inspiration for this wedding invitation. The gardens are considered to be β€œThe most important examples of English landscape and botany culture in the South of Europe.”

This beautiful bridge is at the end of a path lined with a lush canopy of fragrant wisteria vines. Keeping with the bride's request for a romantic soft palette, I started sketching ideas and painting little sections of how I wanted everything to look. I chose to watercolor subdued and gauzy images for the invitation and the reply. The map I kept simple and clean in one color. I love to include maps whenever possible. I think it completes any destination wedding stationery.

The final touches are the gorgeous calligraphy by http://www.logoscalligraphy.com and the delicate ribbon by http://www.silkandwillow.com. Details are everything.
